It’ll be “Tis the Season” at Wild West City throughout the year starting in May, as the “wild west” theme park in nearby Byram Township switches up its focus at different points of the spring, summer and fall.
The iconic Western-themed amusement park’s season opening weekend is scheduled for May 4-5.
Wild West City, a perfect day trip for families and couples. It has been entertaining audiences for over six decades with live action-packed shows, train and stagecoach rides, demonstrations, historical exhibits, music, special events and an opportunity to mingle with cowboys and cowgirls in “Dodge City.”
This year, Wild West City will take on a different theme during the season beginning with Spring Bonanza, then Summer Stampede, Fall Harvest and culminating with Haunted Wild West in October.
Spring Bonanza offers a chance to shake off the frost. The whole town will be hootin’ and hollerin’. Meet new characters in brand new mini skits and tempt your taste buds with a new seasonal food and beverage menu in the Golden Nugget Saloon. Immerse yourself in the western experience looking for gold at Egan’s Gold Mine, visit the Mountain Man’s camp, and capture the feel of education at the one room schoolhouse.
Get ready to be transported back to the golden age of cowboys and western adventure at Wild West City’s Summer Stampede. Be part of the action helping the marshal track down the outlaws. Grab a lasso and mosey over to the newest attraction at Wild West City, the Cowboy Corral. Test your skills or learn how to rope like a cowboy on the range. Cool down with mouthwatering soda floats, ice cream and other sweets at Pilsner’s Candy Shoppe. Don’t miss out on the summer celebration of the cowboy.
Fall Harvest brings out the colors of the Skylands Region at Wild West City and more great events each weekend such as Cowgirl Day and Scouts Weekend. Savor the bounty of the season indulging in mouthwatering pumpkin delights, hearty fall picking, fall crafted bar beverages and sip warm apple cider or fall crafted beverages in the Golden Nugget Saloon.
Haunted Wild West, held weekends in October, has become one of the most popular annual attractions in Northwest Jersey. The Spooky Wild West Fest features classic Wild West City shows with a Halloween twist. Meet characters like the Wicked Witch and Headless Horseman. When the sunsets at Wild West City things get a little scary. The Haunted Train Ride and Haunted Walking Trail are theatrical haunts and scares featuring a storyline along with jump scares set in an eerie western town.
Meanwhile recent additions such as The Cowboy Corral where participants will find a unique, one of a kind roping experience, and, the Billy the Kid Show: Billy’s Great Escape showstopper, both bring special attention.
In addition, the Native American Indian Village, is being expanded to include a more detailed history of how Native Americans lived.
For frequent visitors to Wild West City, Posse Memberships are being offered. It includes unlimited visits throughout the 2024 season, admission to all special event days, bring a friend ticket, souvenir WWC Cup, discounts at food and retail shops and more.
In the Golden Nugget Saloon, visitors can experience great eats and for the adults, craft cocktails, at our western bar.
Buoyed by the popularity of shows like Yellowstone and other western TV shows and movies, Wild West City affords those fans a chance to see what the wild west was all about up close and personal. Wild West City can also be an educational experience for those who want to simply learn about the history of the the American wild west.
Wild West City offers an array of special days during the year: among them Wild West City’s National Day of the Cowboy and Cowgirl, Civil War reenactments, Native American events and more. The amusement park will continue to feature many of its annually held theme days with discounts, such as on Mother’s Day, Father’s Day, and Scout weekends. And of course, train rides and stagecoach rides complete any trip to the park.
