Wild West City Gets Spooky in October

When the sun sets… Fear rises at Wild West City in October

Hit the trail to the Wild West City ghost town as the iconic theme park transforms into a haunted western experience this October.   No gravestone will be left unturned – the main street and all its buildings will be decked out for Halloween with lights, special Halloween effects and spooky decorations.

Haunted Wild West City will run weekends starting Oct. 4 with a “PG-13” rated  theatrical scare experience on Friday and Saturday evenings.  During the day on Saturdays and Sundays, beginning October 5 join in on the fun as Wild West City, located in Byram Township, undergoes a Halloween spin, as the classic performances take a fun and spooky twist.

When the sun sets this October at Wild West City, the fear goes up. In the eerie town of Wild West City, the local undertaker, Dan, is on a desperate quest to find the perfect body for Miss Sally West, the late wife of the notorious Marshal John West. Sally’s spirit, cursed and restless due to a land dispute and a tragic death, seeks a body to inhabit through a ritual involving a rare ruby. Sally’s spirit is growing impatient as the Ruby remains unfound. While vengeful relatives, looters and towns folk reveal their disdain for the West family’s chaos, other unsettled spirits prowl the haunted trail in search of rest.  Brave folks can board the ol’ 97 and travel into outlaw territory for a haunted ride like none other.

The Golden Nugget Saloon will be open as the first train ride makes its way into haunted outlaw territory.  Warm up with hot chocolate and hot apple cider. The saloon will also be serving flavorful fares and cocktails for those 21 and over.  Pilsner’s Candy Shoppe will be open and serving sweet and spooky treats for all ages.

The daytime event is a spooktacular adventure, perfect for families! Enjoy nonstop western entertainment with a Halloween twist including the Headless Horseman Robbery and the Wicked Witch of the Wild West. Dance along to the Vampire Can-Can girls, and much more. A children’s costume contest and trick or treating will also be held daily! All of the activities you know and love at Wild West City will be available during the day including the Stage Coach or Train and Pony Ride for the younger buckaroos! Guests can also learn how to rope like a cowboy on the range at cowboy corral, visit the Blacksmith shop or head on down to theh Haunted Mine and try your luck striking gold. And don’t hesitate to mosey over to the West’s Homestead where the ghost of the Frontiersman still haunts.

Parents should use their discretion for the Night Time Haunted Train and Trail.  All ages are welcome for both events but evening activities are best suited for braver children, teens and adults.
