The Continuing Education Department at Warren County Community College will once again be hosting an informational event focusing on career possibilities in fast growing healthcare fields. Many individuals who have attended this event in the past and registered at WCCC are now enjoying well-paying health care positions in the Lehigh Valley, Warren County and elsewhere.
Health profession employment opportunities are expanding rapidly and WCCC would like to provide the chance for anyone interested to learn about these exciting positions at its Health Career Information Night, Wed. Jan. 13 from 6-8 p.m.
A career as an allied healthcare professional offers secure and meaningful work, numerous opportunities for advancement and growth, and a chance to make a difference in the lives of people who need help. Featured career opportunities will include Administrative & Clinical Medical Assistant, Medical Coder/Biller, Dental Assistant, Dental Radiology, Phlebotomy Technician, Certified Nurse’s Aide, Therapeutic Massage, Pharmacy Technician, and Certified Medication Aide. Preparation for these careers is offered as short-term programs through the Continuing Education Department.
In the past year, Continuing Education added five new health career trainings: Ophthalmic Assistant, Dialysis Technician, Pilates Instructor Certification, Physical Therapy Aide, and Veterinary Assistant Program.
New for 2016 Continuing Education will be offering a National Guild of Hypnotists approved 100 hour Hypnotherapy Certification Program. Emergency Room Technician and Pharmacy Compounding & Sterile Preparations will be featured as two of the new advanced career courses.
Funding information and resources for Healthcare Careers will also be available.
The Health Career Information Night will take place from 6-8 p.m. in Room P110 at the Phillipsburg Education Center, located at 445 Marshall Street, right off of Route 22. The event is free and open to the public but a RSVP is required. To confirm a spot, simply call 908-689-7613.
