Warren County Community College’s nursing program, already renowned for its passing rates and job placement success, got another boost recently when registerednursing.org ranked the program as the second best in the state of New Jersey.
WCCC received a cumulative score of 95.18 based on various factors. Only Rowan College in South Jersey ranked higher. Registered Nursing ranks the best nursing programs in every state in the country.
The website noted, “Warren County Community College boasts an ADN (Associates Degree in Nursing) pathway aimed at preparing students for entry-level positions in registered nursing. This highly competitive program offers predominantly daytime courses, with some clinicals in the evenings at sites around Warren County. Grads are poised to find gainful employment in the field, or they can eventually complete a bachelor’s degree in nursing.”
“Debra Schrek, teaching administrator for nurse education, all of our clinical and didactic adjunct nurse educators, and myself are very proud of this rating,” said Patricia Stypolkowski, Executive Director of Nurse Education. “We feel we do a great job in preparing our students well and this recognition is an acknowledgement that we are doing just that.”
WCCC’s nursing students have had an amazing pass rate and job placement record since the inception of the program.
“Our goal is to see our students be successful on the NCLEX (Nurse Licensure Compact Exam) and since our program’s first graduating class of 2007 we have never had a pass rate lower than 84%,” Stypolkowski said. She added that “in 2017 our graduates had a 100% pass rate on the NCLEX, which tied our pass rate for 2007.”
Stypolkowski continued, “As educators and administrators in this program we are very proud of our students’ accomplishments. As long as we continue to keep our pass rates on the NCLEX high and continue to maintain our high standards for admission, we will maintain this ranking and will strive to be No. 1.”
“Our nursing program has been nothing short of outstanding,” said Dr. Will Austin, President of WCCC. “The credit goes to our nursing staff. They give 150 percent and it shows in the results.”
