Therapeutic massage has proven health benefits, including stress relief and relieving chronic muscular problems, but the price tag can keep some from taking part.

As part of the Warren County Community College Continuing Education Department’s Therapeutic Massage Certificate Program, students must complete a 100-hour massage clinic, which is open to the public. These low-cost massages are conducted as a typical client-therapist session, but under instructor supervision.

All massages will be held at the college’s Phillipsburg Education Center, 445 Marshall Street, every Friday through May 5 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. The fee is only $25 for full body massage (approx. 1 hour 20 minutes), or $20 for active adults 55-plus.

Massage is a great way to reduce stress, unwind and lessen chronic muscular problems, however it is always good to consult with your physician if you have any current medical conditions prior to a massage. If you are newly pregnant, have any uncontrolled diseases, i.e. diabetes, HBP, a fever, anything contagious, or systemic infections, massage is not appropriate for you at this time.
