Heat up your career with the two-part Fire Protection Inspector ICS program, which leads to licensure, being offered this Fall through Warren County Community College’s Continuing Education Department.
These courses are designed to provide the educational needs of those seeking licensure as a Fire Protection Inspector ICS through mastery of the Fire Protections Sub-code for residential and small commercial structures.
Based on the New Jersey Uniform Construction Code and the International Building Code, Part 1 covers techniques for plan review, materials testing, field inspection, and report writing. Part 2 is a detailed study of the N.J. UCC and International Building Code and covers field inspection of fire protection systems and electrical systems.
Part one leads off on Sept. 9 and runs two days a week for 10 weeks. Part 2 follows, beginning Nov. 18 and continues twice a week through Feb. 12, excluding holidays. Both parts are required for licensure by the New Jersey Department of Community Affairs as a Fire Protection Inspector ICS.
The Fire Protection Inspector program is one of several programs offered at WCCC designed for those interested in Uniform Construction Code. Additional programs include Technical Assistant to the Construction Official and Electrical Inspector ICS.
The Fire Protection Inspector courses will be held at the Phillipsburg Education Center, 445 Marshall St. in Phillipsburg. For more information about these courses or to apply, please visit http://www.warren.edu/category/career-continuing-education/ .
