After a successful first semester of partnership, Warren County Community College and Fit4Basic Police Academy are proud to announce Spring 2020 public safety course offerings, including a brand new class, and a free informational open house.
The informational open house will be held Tuesday, Jan. 14, at 6 p.m., at the Phillipsburg Education Center, 445 Marshall St. in Phillipsburg, N.J. It will include opportunities to talk to instructors and learn more about these offered programs.

The public safety courses this Spring 2020 semester includes:
- Cyber Security Certificate series, beginning Monday, Jan. 13 (please note, this course starts before the information session)
- 24-Hour Security Officer Registration Certification, beginning Monday, Jan. 27.
- Homeland Security and Terrorism Certification, beginning Thursday, Feb. 13.
- 10-week Pre-Police Academy Program, starting Monday, March 24.
The 24-Hour Security Officer Registration Certification program is a brand-new offering that can help students launch their career as a licensed New Jersey Security Guard. The course includes subjects pertinent to a successful career in security, including security measures, infrastructure awareness, use of force, terrorism awareness, and more. Applicants must be at least 18 years old with no criminal charges in their history. They must also obtain a temporary state security officer license and be fingerprinted to partake in the class.
The Cybersecurity Series Certification course allows students to gain a critical understanding of the technological needs, threats, and weaknesses in cybersecurity, a modern and constant concern, and prepare them for the CompTIASecurity + examination.
The 10-week Pre-Police Academy Program prepares students for the demanding experiences they will face at their respective police academies. The course includes CPR certification and EMD/911 Dispatch training.
The Homeland Security and Terrorism Certification instructs students on modern homeland security and defense issues, including security policy structure and operations. Many students use this course to build on their career or to create a foundation for their career.
Additionally, be sure to mark calendars for the 9-1-1 / Emergency Medical Dispatch course, as well, which will be offered in Summer 2020.
All courses will be held at the Phillipsburg Education Center at 445 Marshall St., Phillipsburg. For exact times and dates, costs, and registration information, please visit warren.edu, or contact Dianne Czar at 908-835-2333 or czar@warren.edu.
We are delighted to offer these important skills to those interested in public safety careers.
I am very excited to offer the public safety career training courses at Warren County Community College for our community.
