WCCC Art Exhibit Focuses On What Lays Beneath

Scott Lewis has always been drawn to what lays beneath the shiny exterior. Visitors to Warren County Community College this month can see how he captures his subjects’ inner workings in paint and ink.

The College is located on Route 57 in Washington Township. The show is free and open to the public during regular College hours.

The body of work can be seen at the College’s Second Floor Art Gallery through October.

Growing up one of my influences was the transparent anatomy pages that when flipped, revealed blood and muscles intense and brilliant,” says Lewis (pictured in red). “I take a similar approach in creating my subjects. I want to expose what they are thinking, their urges and how they see themselves. I present them inside out. Who they are becomes how they look and how they interact with each other.

Based out of Maplewood, in Essex County, Lewis is known for producing bright colors and bold artwork. He is also a talented writer and former TV host.
