As a business owner, you don’t want to get caught in the middle of a legal issue – especially if it could have been avoided with some advance planning. Indeed, on occasion you hear of a business getting in the middle of a legal matter that turns into one big headache.
The Washington Business Improvement District’s Thursday Oct. 12 Lunch ‘N Learn is all about taking steps to limit or avoid the pain of legal problems. “Avoiding Legal Trouble” is what this month’s Lunch ‘N Learn is all about.
The luncheon is set for Thursday Oct. 12 at Pasta Grill by Enzo, Route 57, Washington, from 11:45 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Tom Fischer of Broscious, Fischer & Zaiter of Washington will be the guest speaker. The luncheon is open to any business person in the region, as well as anyone who owns a home-based business or is thinking of opening a business in the future.
Too many businesses wait until legal trouble arises before addressing them. Business Lawyer Tom Fischer will discuss potential legal issues that businesses should be aware of to help avoid problems and keep small problems from becoming big problems. Among the areas of discussion will be: preventative law, common mistakes made by new – and sometimes – established businesses, and various aspects of contracts and agreements.
Cost per person is $15 in advance, $20 at the door. To register in advance, go to www.washingtonbid.org or phone 908-689-4800.
