Washington’s Hometown Holiday Slated For Dec. 7

Hometown Holiday in Washington is truly an event that brings back – and creates – wonderful holiday memories for the entire family.

This year’s festive evening in Downtown Washington takes place on Friday,  Dec. 7th from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. At 6 p.m., the tree lighting fun begins at the Borough Hall with the first of two tree lightings! The WBID Tree Lighting ceremony with Santa Claus then takes place in the Pocket Park in the center of the Downtown at approximately 6:30, following the arrival of Santa.

This event, presented by First Energy Foundation, Pasta Grill by Enzo, Rossi Chevrolet Buick GMC, Home Instead Senior Care, and the Washington Business Improvement District, includes many activities, something for everyone.

In addition to the tree lightings, there will be meet-and-greet photo opportunities with Santa Claus at Celestine’s, Santa’s elves, and other seasonal characters including a host of “Dickens” special guests who will be offering hot chestnuts. There will other activities throughout as well as DJ Mitch Hess playing your favorite holiday tunes. Kathy’s Kove will be hosting its monthly Open Mic as well.

Among the other special activities planned that night:

– Performances by the Little Brass Band of the Lehigh Valley

– Warren County Community Singers

– Free kids’ crafts at two locations: Washington Kid Care and Empanada Mamasita

The Washington BID, host of the festivities, also thanks these additional sponsors: New Jersey American Water, Stews Auto Body, WRNJ Radio, Sunshine Tree Service, Smith Motors. Washington Borough, the Washington Borough Volunteer Fire Department, and students from DCF-Regional School and students of Voices of Change: Warren County Teen Coalition.
