In addition to purchasing farm fresh fruits and vegetables at the weekly Washington Farmers Market this June, visitors are in for some extra fun with several special events.
The weekly farmers’ market takes place every Saturday through the end of September, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. The market will always be held along Route 57, anchored in the Pocket Park, located at 44 E. Washington Ave. (Route 57).
Following the annual Green Fest on June 2, it’s Senior Day on June 9. Seniors get 10 percent off on purchases made that day. In addition, This Old House, a terrific covers band, will entertain from 11 to 1:30 and Stan Cohen, founder of ChiforLiving and a certified Tai Chi and Qigong instructor and balance trainer, will do a couple of free demonstrations, at 10:30 and 12 noon. Cohen teaches classes locally at Gibson’s Fitness Center on Mondays at 12:30 and Fridays at 4:30, and at the Washington Nutrition Center Mondays at 11 a.m.
Country folk singer Lee Larson takes the stage on Saturday June 16, June 23 is Summer Kickoff!, and then on June 30, the Gerrie Gessie Duo (pictured) will headline the Second Annual Mini-Kids Fest. The Kids Fest will include a variety of free activities for children.
The Farmers’ Market is sponsored by Smith Tractor & Equipment, Inc., Hairmazing, Crossfit WCG, Hackettstown Medical Center, Baker Federal Credit Union, Warren County Dental Center, and Home Instead Senior Care.
