What better way to celebrate America’s birthday then with a Red, White & Blue Dessert Contest!
The contest is being hosted by the Washington Weekly Farmers’ Market and the Washington Business Improvement District on Saturday July 7. The Farmers’ Market is in the Downtown Pocket Park, 44 E. Washington Avenue (Route 57), Washington.
The Farmers’ Market, which runs every Saturday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., offers fresh fruit and vegetables from area farms, as well as various other food and non-food products.
Amateur bakers are encouraged to sign up! The rules for the contest are simple. Prizes will be awarded to the winners on July 7 at approximately 1 p.m.
Here are the rules:
* Only one entry per person and entries must be made from scratch – no mixes!
* No entry fee.
* Please use disposable plate and cover.
* Entries must include entry form and a copy of the recipe, typed or written legibly.
* Entries cannot require refrigeration.
* 3 Categories: Most Attractive Dessert, Most Patriotic Dessert, Best Tasting Dessert.
* Decision of Judges will be final (Judges are volunteers).
* Entry must be received between 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. July 7, at the Washington Borough Farmers’ Market, 44 East Washington Avenue, Washington, NJ.
* Winner must be present.
* Entries must be desserts.
*Amateur bakers only. Professional bakers are NOT eligible.
