When the Marine Corp’s Operation Toy Train with Santa and Mrs. Claus on board stopped in Washington Borough on Dec. 2, it was met by scores of people and an incredible 2638 toys and 20 bicycles that were then loaded onto the train and headed to children who otherwise might not get presents on Christmas. Sponsored by the Washington Business Improvement District, the annual event has become a staple in the community with businesses and residents helping collecting and donating toys. Full Throttle Automotive and Cycle Repair came up big, but other drop sites were huge as well, with toys collected at the WBID office, Borough Hall, Buttzville Brewing, Confidence Builders, Laughing Goat Coffee Bar and Warren County Dental Center.
