Nothing Scary About Hometown Halloween
While there were a few youngsters dressed in spooky outfits for the Washington Business Improvement District’s Annual Hometown Halloween in Downtown Washington on Oct. 31, there was nothing to be scared about as hundreds of children – and some adults and pets – wore costumes of all sorts. Businesses graciously handed out candy and other goodies for trick or treaters, and numerous businesses around the Borough also participated in the pumpkin decorating contest. Pictured here are the various First Place winners. The pumpkin decorating winner was Mansey Family Dentistry. Costume winners were Baby Gnome – Beau Deemer with mom Juli Deemer and in the family category, The Dillmans as dinosaurs. Top pet was “Dr. Goodest Boy” – aka Klondike, owned by Keira Smith. Two runner ups that got much attention were Baby Llama (Prudence Tempany with mom Faith) and Giana Schuetz as Dorothy Gale.
