Warren Community College’s Associate in Nurse Education program has been recognized for excellence by the Nursing Schools Almanac, a resource for prospective nursing students across the United States.
“I’m very pleased to share that we’ve included Warren Community College on our list as the best associate degree in nursing (ADN) programs in the state,” wrote Nursing Schools Almanac Editor-in-Chief Christopher McMillen.
Not only did the program make the list, but it topped it. McMillen revealed that the program has been named the number one nursing program in the state for 2020.
“We have devoted so much energy into making sure our program is the best it can be,” said Patricia Stypolkowski MSN-Ed, RN, CNE, Executive Director of Nurse Education at WCC. “To have it recognized as the number one Associate Degree Nursing Program in the state feels wonderful because it just goes to show that all of the ongoing effort put in by our staff, faculty, and students is paying off.”
The Nursing Schools Almanac compiled a list of the top 17 ADN programs in New Jersey by looking at 6 years of pass rates among first-time test-takers of the National Council Licensure Examination for Registered Nurses, which is required to practice nursing in the country. It also compiled graduation class sizes.
The research found that graduating nursing students at WCC had a 92.4 percent pass rate from 2013-2018, a full 2 percent higher than the next program.
This is not the first time that WCC’s nursing program has topped a “Best Of” list. In January, WCC announced that NursingExplorer.com named the program the “Best Value” associate degree program in North Jersey and the second among all 70 state programs. The rankings were based on pass rates and net prices.
