Warren Library Slates Halloween Party, History

The Richard D. Gardner Branch of the Warren County Library will be the scene of an outdoor Halloween party on Tuesday, Oct. 26, from 1:30 to 3:30. Miss Gerrie will present stories, games, face painting and treats for children age 3 and up. Be sure to wear your costume! Goodie bags will be handed out. Registration is required on the library website. Rain date Thursday, Oct. 28 at 1:30 p.m.

Halloween History

Kevin Woyce presents a Zoom lecture on haunted Halloween history on Tuesday, Oct. 26, at 6:30 p.m., sponsored by the Warren County Library.

He will trace the history from Old World Harvest Festivals to the modern holiday covering such topics as the origins of the Jack-O-Lantern, Orson Welles’ 1938 radio broadcast “War of the Worlds,” early monster movies and famous costume makers. Stressed Out?

Also from the library this week is a stress management workshop presented by Gina-Marie Miraglia, MPA, of Horizon Blue Cross/Blue Shield. On Oct. 28 she will discuss different types of stress, stressors and how stress effects the body. She will also review healthy and productive coping mechanisms, including a relaxation exercise.
