Outstanding technology and engineering educators, including Timothy Zavacki of Warren Hills Regional High School in Washington, were honored by the International Technology and Engineering Educators Association (ITEEA) at its 82nd annual conference this month.

Forty-five classroom educators at the elementary, middle, and high school levels received ITEEA’s Teacher Excellence Award. Sponsored by ITEEA and Goodheart-Willcox, the Teacher Excellence Award is one of the highest honors given to technology and engineering education classroom teachers and is presented in recognition of their outstanding contributions to the profession and their students.

Zavacki, a woodworking and technology education teacher, was recognized for serving as a model for his colleagues.

“The award winners exhibit so many high-quality programs and activities occurring globally in technology and engineering education!” said ITEEA President, Dr. Philip A. Reed, DTE. “It is inspiring to learn from these leaders, and we should all feel proud to be connected with these colleagues.”

This is not the first time the Warren Hills’ teacher has been recognized for his work. The New Jersey Technology and Engineering Educators Association named him a 2019 Technology Education Excellence award winner and 2009 Innovative Technology Education winner.

He shares his students’ work on social media.
