Warren County Plans Patriot Day/9-11 Observance

The Warren County Emergency Services 9/11 Committee’s 17th Annual Patriot Day Observance will be held at the Warren County Emergency Services and 9/11 Memorial on Saturday, September 11, 2021 at 2 p.m. to mark the 20th anniversary of the terrorist attacks of 9/11/01. 

The ceremony honors all who perished in those terrorist attacks as well as Warren County Emergency Service personnel who have died in the line of duty. 

The ceremony will include a remembrance of the Warren County residents who died that day: 

•           Deepa K. Pakkala, Greenwich Township – North Tower 

•           Bruce A. Reynolds, Knowlton Township (Port Authority Patrolman and Knowlton Firefighter) – South Tower 

•           Bruce E. Simmons, Hackettstown – South Tower 

•           Robert C. Miller Jr., Belvidere – South Tower 

Also included in the ceremony is a tribute to the 13 service members of the U.S. armed forces recently killed in action in Kabul, Afghanistan.  

Keynote speakers will be Warren County Commissioner Lori Ciesla, State Senator Steven V. Oroho (24th District), and Assemblyman John DiMaio (23rd District). 

The Memorial is located at 1500 State Highway 57, Washington, between the Warren County Technical School and the Warren County Community College. 

The public is invited to attend the ceremony. First responders – the fire, law enforcement and emergency medical service personnel from throughout Warren County – will be participating.
