Washington Business Improvement District’s spring art show will be sweeter than ever when it takes over Washington Borough’s downtown on Saturday, April 27.
The Warren County Arts, Sweets, and Crafts Festival offers visitors a chance to shop and admire the work of local artisans while eating sweet treats, enjoying fresh entertainment, and more, while exploring the quaint downtown of Washington Borough.
This year’s event, which runs 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., include an array of free events. Arts demonstrations from Keller Glass Blowing and blacksmith demos from Pocono Mountains Forge will be held throughout the day. Free kids’ activities include crafts with Dove Environmental Center.
Arts and crafts vendors will include Pinderella, featuring cute and artistic handmade pins and brooches, MC Events & Design, providing stationery options, author Mark. R. Vogel will be on hand with his books and jewelry, Shabby Chic Garden offers whimsical garden décor, Renate’s Small Boutique will have an array of doll clothing, and much more. Many participating downtown businesses will have their own displays and special sales.
Live music will provide entertainment throughout the festival, featuring bluegrass aficionados Doc Pappa & The Renegade Ramblers; Clouds in My Coffee, a Carole King tribute; and Trevor B. Powers Band, playing Blues & Rock.
This year’s event is sponsored by PNC Bank, Warren Hills Memorial Home, Warren County Dental Center, Welcome To Our Neighborhood, Washington Borough and Warren County Clean Communities, and Warren County Cultural and Heritage Commission.
There is still time for arts, crafts, and sweets vendors to sign up for a spot.
Vendors with original works will be eligible for cash prizes. Prizes will be awarded to the Top 3 Winning artists (original works only) – First, Second and People’s Choice. This event has grown in the past five years, with dozens of participating artists and vendors and Washington businesses and more drawing large crowds throughout the day.
The Arts, Sweets, and Craft Festival takes place along Washington Avenue (Route 57) throughout the Downtown and runs from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. The music takes place in the Pocket Park by the Town Clock.
Only artists displaying original works are eligible for cash prizes. All art styles are welcome, from painting to pottery to jewelry and everything in between. Re-sale vendors are also welcome to register for the festival. Vending spots are 10×10.
