United Way of Northern New Jersey’s will hold the United Way Honey Open Golf Outing on Monday, Sept. 13 at the Farmstead Golf & Country Club, 88 Lawrence Rd., Lafayette.
United Way Women United presents the women’s only golf outing to raise funds to help ALICE (Asset Limited, Income Constrained, Employed) and poverty-level individuals and families in Morris, Somerset, Suburban Essex, Sussex and Warren counties who were already struggling to afford the basics even before the pandemic hit.
“While the pandemic’s end seems to be in sight, for ALICE essential workers, the road to recovery will be a long one,” said Director of Women’s Philanthropy & Leadership Giving, Michele Dreiblatt.
Women United engages members throughout the year in volunteer, fundraising and advocacy efforts to help ALICE and those in poverty throughout the region get on a path to financial stability.
Participants of this year’s event will play a traditional 18-hole scramble with prizes for straightest drive and closest to the pin. The outing will begin with registration at 7 a.m. followed by an 8 a.m. shotgun start. The $150 per person registration includes golf, continental breakfast, networking cocktail hour and luncheon. Event sponsors include Platinum Sponsors: Bentley Assisted Living at Branchville, Lakeland Bank, Selective and Thorlabs; Gold Sponsor First Hope Bank; and Silver Sponsor Nisivoccia LLP. Sponsorship opportunities are still available.
