United Way Offers Free Caregivers Conference Sept. 10

Unpaid family caregivers who need help navigating this important role can register now for a free conference offered by United Way Caregivers Coalition next month in Warren County.

The regional conference series covers an array of challenges that a caregiver may face, including physical, emotional, and financial stresses.

The Warren County Conference will be held on Saturday, Sept. 10, at Warren County Community College’s Washington Campus, 475 Route 57 West. The conference will run from 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m.

The day will include three professionally-led presentations: “Caregivers of Loved Ones with Disabilities,” presented by Lorraine D’Sylva-Lee, Rutgers-UBHC Behavioral Research & Training Institute, “Debunking Hospice Myths,” presented by Cecelia Clayton, Karen Ann Quinlan Hospice, and “Caregiving Across the Lifespan Panel,” an open discussion with experts on common issues faced when caring for loved ones who are aging or have disabilities or mental illness.

A light breakfast and a bagged lunch to take home will be provided.

Space for this information-filled day is limited and registration is required. To register, e-mail Robin.Ennis@UnitedWayNNJ.org, call (973) 993-1160 ext. 305, or register online here.
