Warren County Community College and Union County College have established an agreement to provide students in both counties with unique opportunities in two programs.

Warren County students will now be able to earn their Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) Associate degree from Union while Union County students will be able to take courses in the drone program at WCCC.

This partnership between the two colleges allows Warren students to take their general education courses at the Warren campus and then apply for acceptance into Union’s PTA program. Upon completion of the PTA program, students will receive their A.A.S. degree from Union. With its new state-of-the-art drone lab now open, Union students will be able to participate in the drone program in Phillipsburg and also be able to use the newly built droneport on WCCC’s main campus.

WCCC President Dr. Will Austin was joined by Union’s President Dr. Margaret M. McMenamin for a Memorandum of Collaboration ceremony at WCCC on Aug. 21.

Also in attendance were WCCC Board of Trustees Chairman Dr. Phil Linfante and several trustees, special guests Edward Smith, Warren County Freeholder Director and Assemblyman Hal Wirths, and faculty and staff from both WCCC and UCC.

“Working together for the benefit of our students is what it is all about,” said Dr. Linfante.

“This partnership is a natural fit for both colleges,” added Dr. Austin.”It’s a straight drive down Route 78.”

Added Dr. McMenamin, “We are delighted to partner with WCCC. We see this as a game changer that will be of great benefit our students.”
