The Lights of Life Memorial Tree Lighting has been a seasonal staple for friends and family in the tri-state area for over 30 years.  In light of current events and the COVID-19 pandemic, Lights of Life will be hosted virtually this year.

On Thursday, Dec. 3, at 7 p.m., join Karen Ann Quinlan Hospice from the safety and warmth of your home to experience the event, complete with guest readers, music, inspirational verses and the traditional reading of the names.

Event participants will be forwarded a Zoom password to enter the ceremony and can also download the commemorative event program. Families can share this information with loved ones to all be present at this event—no matter how many miles apart.  New for 2020, there will be a DVD of the Lights of Life virtual presentation for $9.99 which covers the tax, shipping and handling.

At the conclusion of the Lights of Life virtual event, all traditional memorial trees will be lit in Warren and Sussex Counties and Pike County, Pa., to commemorate the shining place our loved ones have held in our hearts and minds. Families are encouraged to drive past one of the traditional tree lighting sites to view the splendor of the “Lights of Life” in person at their leisure through Sunday, Jan. 31.

The Warren County tree site can be found at the Wayne Dumont, Jr. Administrative Center on Route 519 in Belvidere.

The thousands of white lights and decorative stars on the trees represent donations sent to Karen Ann Quinlan Hospice in memory of a family member or friend.

“The Lights of Life memorial service and tree lightings provide a comforting and meaningful way for people to reflect and remember loved ones throughout the holiday season,” stated Louis Ruggiero, President of Iliff-Ruggiero Funeral Home. Iliff-Ruggiero Funeral Home has been the Event Sponsor of the Lights of Life Tree Lighting and Memorials for 30 years and continues to assist Karen Ann Quinlan Hospice with the presentation of this community outreach to area families.

Participation begins with the purchase of a Lights of Life for $20 in the name of a loved one. Included in the purchase is a memorial keepsake which will be sent along with a personalized acknowledgement card to the designated recipient. Lenox Sponsors donating $100 will also receive a Lenox ornament. A new design in the series is featured annually.

Purchase a Lights of Life in advance at karenannquinlanhospice.org/lights. Once registered, a memorial keepsake and acknowledgment card with ZOOM information will be mailed to designated recipients and the commemorated name will be printed in the event program.
