Wine, dine, and be merry with friends of the House of the Good Shepherd Retirement Community during the highly-anticipated Wine & Dine “Under the Stars” event that brings together fine local flavors while recognizing “Stars” of The House community.
This year’s Wine & Dine will take place Thursday, June 6, and will honor Jim Sheldon as the 2019 Distinguished Friend of the House for his work with The House and the Hackettstown community. Proceeds from the event will go toward The Shepherd’s Fund, which supports residents who outlive their resources.
The event will run 5:30-8:30 p.m. and will include a cocktail hour, dinner and dessert from favorite local restaurants, live music from the Grover Kemble Trio, a special performance from the Colonial Musketeers, as well as a silent auction and artisanal sales.
A native of Hackettstown, Jim Sheldon has worked continuously to maintain and grow the characteristics of his home and its surrounding areas, which has led his family to dub the town “Paradise Valley.” His humanitarian spirit, along with his commitment to continuous professional and personal growth, helps to inform his vision for the area’s progressive future. After working 27 years as a retail business owner, Jim pivoted to focus on downtown revitalization and redevelopment. Serving in similar roles around the area, he turned his eye back to Hackettstown and has served with its Business Improvement District for eight years now, where he has helped enhance the area and make a destination for shopping, fine food, and entertainment. He has also served locally in Kiwanis International and the Hackettstown Rotary Club.
Wine & Dine tickets are $75 per individual ticket. Sponsorships are available. For ticket information call 908-684-5900.
