Will Ashby joined The House of the Good Shepherd on May 4 as the new Director of Plant Operations and has been pleasantly busy ever since.
“There is always a renovation project and that’s good,” Ashby shared.
In his new role overseeing building and grounds operations, he has gotten to know the retirement community well, enjoying both the people – “everyone has been warm and friendly here” – and the campus.
“I am big into nature, so the grounds and the unique setting of the House being on the Musconetcong River makes it a beautiful place to work,” he said. His favorite spot? “At the moment, my favorite place on the grounds is the large maple tree with the cove of boulders near the front entry.”
Born and raised in New Jersey, Ashby’s experience in building management, mechanical engineering, and telecommunications have all prepared him to take on this role.
Right now, his biggest project is completing the Riverwalk so residents can more easily enjoy the Musconetcong River, but he hinted there are other exciting projects on the horizon, too.
The House is located at 798 Willow Grove Street and offers an array of living options for seniors, from independent and assisted living to skilled nursing care. They also offer short term post-hospital stays, all in a beautiful setting along the banks of the Musconetcong River. For more about The House, visit www.hotgs.org.
