Staying ahead of the curve makes business sense

Over the past year, Americans have had to unexpectedly learn numerous new technical skills to stay atop of trends in virtual programming. With our ever-changing world, rather than wait, people have the opportunity to stay ahead of the curve with skills training. To do that, Warren Community College offers year-round, no-cost workforce development workshops for an array of soft and technical skills that are now available online.

The grant-funded training classes are free to individuals working 20 or more hours per week for a New Jersey-based business, including owners and employees of small businesses, non-profit organizations, and national companies with a New Jersey business address.

An equally beneficial opportunity for employee and employer, the programs build a stronger workforce and promote an environment of learning, which studies have shown lead to happier, more engaged employees.

“We want employers and potential students to know that they have this amazing resource available to them,” said Eve Azar, Vice President of Corporate and Continuing Education. “WCC is a big proponent of continued skills training because it prepares businesses for the unexpected, builds confidence in employees, and leads to success as a team.”

This February, all business skills classes will be held remotely:

  • Conflict Resolution & Confrontation Skills Thursday, Feb. 4, 9 a.m.-12 p.m.
  • Excel Functions and Formulas Friday, Feb. 5, 9 a.m.-12 p.m.
  • Top-notch Customer Service Wednesday, Feb. 10, 9 a.m.-12 p.m.
  • Creating Powerful Presentations, Wednesday, Feb. 24, 9 a.m.-12 p.m.

Classes are offered at no cost to participants through a grant made possible by the New Jersey Business & Industry Association (NJBIA) and the New Jersey Department of Labor and Workforce Development. Some restrictions apply. Please visit the workforce training website for more information.
