On Thursday, December 24th, parents, parishioners, and friends of St. James’s Episcopal Church in Hackettstown enjoyed the annual Christmas Pageant during the 4:30 pm service. Along with traditional songs, the story of the first Christmas was reenacted through Godly Play’s “A Children’s Liturgy for Christmas Eve” by Jerome W. Berryman.
This much anticipated yearly event is coordinated by Jennifer Howlin, Jeanette Nolan and Alicia LaForge with the musical support of Pam Laura and Dmitry Nikolaev.
For the children involved in this annual event it’s the highlight of the season and gets us all in the true Christmas spirit.
The audience joined the children in singing Silent Night and laying stars around the manger to end the evening.
Lovely service, the new organist is wonderful.
