It’s time for April showers, but Rutherfurd Hall is offering fun activities all month to help the humdrum of a rainy day. Monthly events at the historic mansion continue, including meditation, paint, and live music, plus a free lecture and ongoing summer camp registration.
Invite peace into your life with Mantra Meditation with Jean Marie, Fostering the Journey, scheduled for Wednesday, April 3, from 6:30-7:30 p.m. An optional half-hour Gentle Yoga will precede the class. Tickets are $15 for meditation and $7 for yoga.
Friends of Rutherfurd Hall will hold their monthly meeting Thursday, April 4, at 7 p.m. The volunteer group, which helps organize events at the Hall, meets the first Thursday of every month. They are always seeking new “friends.”
Fans of Sinatra will love the Ronny Whyte Trio, performing Sunday, April 7. Ronny Whyte is an interpreter of Classic American Popular Song, an outstanding jazz pianist, and a successful songwriter. For two years, Whyte appeared Off-Broadway in the hit musical, Our Sinatra, as well as its two national big band tours, which played more than 90 cities. Tickets are $30 in advance or $35 at the door. The concert runs 3-5 p.m.
Travis Spencer, Director of Athletics at Centenary University, will be the presenter for this month’s Centenary Lecture Series. The free lecture Wednesday, April 10, sponsored by the House of the Good Shepherd, will discuss what it means to be a student athlete and how to attain that goal. The lecture begins at 7 p.m.
The monthly Adult Paint and (BYO) Wine Night will be held on Thursday, April 11. The event is $25 per person and runs 7-9 p.m.
Registration is also now open for Summer Camps at Rutherfurd Hall! Themes include Harry Potter, Sports and Games, STEAM, Outdoor Survival, Boating Camp, and a special new camp designed for younger campers ages 6-9, Introduction to Outdoor Education.
