Jennifer Rojas, Sarah Sylverne and Alyssa Zikas each earned two Warren Community College Graduate Academic Awards at a special ceremony on campus on May 20. They were among 17 graduates who were recognized at the event.
Rojas was presented with the Dual to Degree Liberal Arts Award and the Science Award. Sylverne received the Trustees and Phi Theta Kappa Award and Zikas was honored with Science and Phi Theta Kappa awards.
This year the President’s Academic Award went to Afaf Morchid. The WCC Foundation Award was given to Lorena Polo.
Also honored with the Phi Theta Kappa award was Alazia Boulding. The Ars Poetica Award was presented to Clinton Newton, IV.
Dr. Marianne Van Deursen, Acting President at Warren, recognized all of the awardees for their efforts.
“You are all a testament to success and perseverance,” she said. “You have a passion for learning and you will be the leaders of tomorrow.”
Yvonne Reitemeyer, Chair of the WCC Board of Trustees, added, “You are truly the best of the best. You have shared your time and talent with the college and for that we are grateful.”

· Literary Award: Stephanie Sturm.
· Medical Assisting Award: Priya Maharaj.
· Nursing Award: Mariam Fadli.
· Veteran Award: Agustin Vergara.
· William C. Boll Criminal Justice Award: Coral Sellers.
