Roberta Rose has traveled near and far and her artwork currently on display at 5 East Art Gallery in Washington is a reflection of those travels.
Rose’s exhibition is titled PLACES – NEAR AND FAR. It is a compilation, through photography, of the places she has traveled, both in the U.S. and Europe. Her travels cultivated and broadened her knowledge about art in general and the Old Master’s works as well as those of contemporary artists.
5 East Art Gallery, which is part of Kathy’s Kove & Kafe, re-opened in October under the direction of Brian Daum and Rose, the Assistant Director It has been expanded to double the size and provides a home gallery to its members, as well as exhibits by juried guest artists. Rose’s works will be up through November.
Rose works in mixed media and photography. She is well known for her works in transfer art nationally and has won many awards. Originally from Edison, she now resides in Washington Township.
The mission of the gallery remains the same as it was in 2014: to create a members artist group that will work together to display, sell their works and provide community outreach programs, classes, and events.
5 East Art Gallery is located in Downtown Washington, at 5 E. Washington Avenue. Gallery hours are Wed. through Sun – 1 to 7 p.m. and 2 to 9 p.m. on Friday.
In addition to art events at Kathy’s Kove, and M Galleries, also located in Downtown Washington Borough, many other community events are scheduled throughout the year by the Washington Business Improvement District.
