Cathy Miller’s People of the Week pic was taken on March 1, the final Thursday in the St. Patrick’s Celebrity Bartender Series, affectionately known as “bar crawl nights,” leading up to Hackettstown’s 10th Annual St. Patrick’s Day Parade on March 11. The four participating locations were Marley’s Gotham Grill, Bea McNally’s Irish Pub & Tavern, Czig Meister Brewing Company, and Man Skirt Brewing.
During the months of February and March, each location hosted St. Patrick’s Grand Marshals and local people of interest as “celebrity bartenders” to help serve drinks, mingle with community members, and sell voucher cards, good for one beer at each establishment. Funds raised during the St. Patrick’s Celebrity Bartender Series supported the St. Patrick’s Day Parade and the committee dedicated to planning it.
Dr. David P. Haney, president of Centenary University, was helping out at Czig Meister Brewing Company on March 1. He noted that Centenary has always been involved in the St. Patrick’s Day Parade. This year, look for University representatives to be riding the parade route in a Jeep Renegade, donated by Johnson Dodge, and ultimately being raffled to support the new baseball field at Centenary. Purchasing a card of beer tickets from Dr. Haney is Kerry Mullins, from Hackettstown, Vice President for Student Life and Dean of Students at Centenary.
