Pulitzer Prize-Winner Comes to the Little Theatre

Centenary University’s all-student NEXTstage Repertory is teaming with Centenary Stage Company to present Sweat, a Pulitzer Prize-winning play following what happens to a group of close-knit friends when the town’s factory closes, ending the only way of life the town has known for generations.

The 2015 drama, written by Lynn Nottage, explores “American attitude toward class, and how it affects the decisions we make,” according to The New Yorker.  Nottage is the first woman playwright to win two Pulitzer Prizes.

The show will run next week, March 25-29, in the Little Theatre on the campus of Centenary University, 400 Jefferson St., Hackettstown. Tickets are $15/adults and $10/children and Centenary students. A special live stream of the Saturday, March 27, 8 p.m. performance will also be available online at centenarystageco.org/nextstage-rep-sweat.
