Project Self-Sufficiency Offers Free Legal Advice For Area Residents

Free legal advice and limited legal representation will be available in August at Project Self-Sufficiency in Newton for income-eligible area residents, including Warren County residents.  Private meetings can be scheduled with an attorney to discuss housing and landlord-tenant issues; public entitlements like Medicare, Medicaid, public assistance and Social Security; bankruptcy and mortgage modifications; divorce and family law; or other issues. 

Convenient daytime and evening appointments are available; some participants may be even eligible for free legal representation.  Consultations about a variety of legal concerns will be offered by appointment on Wednesday, August 21, 1-5 p.m.; meetings to discuss topics related to family law will be offered on Thursdays, August 8 and 22, 5:30-7:30 p.m.  The sessions are free and open to area residents who meet income eligibility requirements.
