The Octoberfest of Golf will take place on Sunday Oct. 18, when Apple Mountain in White Township transforms its Top of the Green Restaurant into a Fabulous Taste of Germany, following a day of golf in the crisp autumn air.
This long running, traditional event is more than just a tournament; it is an opportunity to get together and celebrate good golf, good food, and the fall season, with friends and family alike. You don’t even have to play golf – or be German – to enjoy the amazing Bavarian themed dinner buffet.
The dinner buffet, which is included in the golf price and is also open to the public, offers a wide selection of delicious German favorites. Everything from Bavarian lentil soup to roasted pig, bratwurst, beef rouladen, sauerbraten and knackwurst, as well as homemade spaetzle, potato pancakes and Burgunder red cabbage. There will also be a bevy of Octoberfest beers available and diners can enjoy the sounds of live German music by Gisela while they dine.
The golf tournament includes 18 holes in a two-person scramble format. Following a Quick Stop Lunch, tee time is set for 12:30 p.m. As an added treat for golfers, Apple Mountain’s already spectacular views are enhanced during the height of the autumn leaf-changing season. Indeed, New Jersey Monthly magazine has called Apple Mountain “One of NJ’s most colorful Fall courses – Golden Golf at its best.”
Golfing awards will be given out at the post-tournament dinner. Cost for golf and dinner is $59 ($49 for associates and seniors). For golfers who bring guests – or those from the general public – dinner is only $17.95 per person (plus tax/gratuity).
