The Washington Celebrates America committee is proud to announce that Bob and DJ Pesaniello will be the Grand Marshalls of the annual July 4th Parade.
The old-fashioned July 4th Parade, which will step off at 3 p.m. on Thursday, July 4, is organized by the Washington Celebrates America committee, which chooses residents with a history of volunteerism and service to honor as Grand Marshall. Later that night there will be a fireworks display at the Washington Middle School.
The Pesaniellos have dedicated their lives to bettering their community and country and are truly beloved by their friends and family. They are known for their readiness to help out when needed.
Bob, a US Marine Corps veteran and retired pharmaceutical professional, and DJ, a retired financial professional who served as Vice President for Wells Fargo, are the parents of two and grandchildren of four. They have been active in giving their time and energy to the community for decades, serving together in the Washington Rotary Club and Habitat for Humanity.
Bob is also a Washington Rotary Paul Harris Fellow and has volunteered with Hope in the Hills of Warren and Washington Celebrates America. DJ has served on numerous boards and committees, including the Washington Business Improvement District, the Ethics Committee of the Supreme Court of New Jersey, the Washington Sewer Authority, and United Way of Lehigh Valley.
The parade will run along Broad and Belvidere Avenues. A rain date of Sunday, July 7, has been set.
In addition to the parade, an opportunity to have dinner with the Grand Marshalls is scheduled to begin at 7 p.m. on Saturday, June 29. The event will be held at The Draught House. Tickets are $20, which includes dinner, and all proceeds benefit Washington Celebrates America. For information on the dinner, contact Christopher Cannavo by email, cannavo30@yahoo.com.
