Ellen Perkins, owner of Gaia’s Gifts in Downtown Washington (pictured), was elected Vice President of the Washington Business Improvement District’s Executive Board at the organization’s monthly meeting in January.
Additionally, Jeff Smith of Smith Motors was elected to the dual position of Vice President/Treasurer. Re-elected as President was Monika Hamburger of Hamburger Holdings and Michael F. Yates of Michael F. Yates & Company, continues as the group’s Secretary for the second straight year. Both Smith and Hamburger have served on the Executive Board for several years in varying capacities.
In another board move, Tamlin Ferguson, the new Plant Manager at ALBEA, replaces Doug Jerman. Jerman, still with the company but in a different capacity, had been the ALBEA representative.
“We have some important projects and challenges for 2018 and we’ve got a terrific team in place that will work hard for our business community” said Washington BID Executive Director John Monteverde. “Moving forward we have some exciting plans, new ideas, and new directions to consider. Everyone at the WBID is committed to making Washington a better place to work and live.”
