The theme of this year’s Tree of Lights, held annually by the Pet Adoption League of North Jersey (PAL), is “Miracles happen when we work together.”
It is a miracle to the abandoned dog when he finds his new forever home. A weeks-old kitten found along the roadside is given the miracle of life through much-needed medicine. The holiday season is full of stories about miracles. And the Tree of Lights helps to ensure more miracles for local homeless pets.
In its 19th year, this fundraiser seeks to cover every inch of an evergreen in front of Hackettstown Animal Hospital with ornaments. Each ornament is $5 and is dedicated to the donor’s own pet.
According to PAL: “Not only will your pet become a part of a beloved local tradition, but your donation will go on to help another animal in need find a loving home.”
PAL, in its 78th year, is solely volunteer-based and every penny raised goes directly to homeless pets in Warren County. Donations cover food, board, and vet bills.
To purchase an ornament in the name of your pet, or to purchase as a gift, please send your name and mailing address, pet name(s), whether they are living or you are donating as a memorial, the gift receiver’s name and mailing address (if applicable), along with your donation to the following location:
PAL Tree of Lights
C/O TOL Coordinator
5 Deerfield Rd.

Each ornament costs $5. Checks should be made out the Pet Adoption League. You can also find a copy-paste form on PAL’s website, here.
This is such a wonderful fund raiser, great way to remember pets that are with us and in loving memory. The money raised goes to help all the animals at Pet Adoption League.
