Hi Everybody and Hope You are All Well!!
I am using the old adage, “trying to kill several birds with one stone” as the quickest way for me to explain today’s Subject Title and describe what I am trying to accomplish with today’s story!
FIRST, as always, I wish to emphasize the Natural, Historical and Cultural aspects of Warren County!!
SECOND, showcase some fun activities in our wonderful region’s Parklands and Open Spaces – HINT – this could be you!!!
THIRD, challenge myself! All photo locations must be outside of Warren County, BUT the photo must include Warren County!! Some nice memories perusing through my archives following those guidelines!
My goal is to bring the point home, so to speak, that you don’t even need to be physically in Warren County because Warren County as a backdrop will certainly enhance and add to your experience!! The photos speak for themselves!!
Our featured photo, titled Bird’s-eye View, was lucky. I caught this helicopter slowly working its way through the Water Gap, actually below me, heading east and then gently turning north and shortly disappearing behind Mount Tammany.
I can truly appreciate the experience of the people in the ‘chopper’ through my own experiences when I was a member of the New Jersey State Police on several details. Then, August 1994, my daughter and I were flown by chopper out of the Grand Canyon’s Phantom Ranch after a rafting trip down the Colorado River. My daughter had become ill and couldn’t hike out the Bright Angel Trail. Believe me, it was a great way to see remote inaccessible areas in comfort!!
During these difficult times, I have been promoting self-isolation trips within our wonderful Parklands and Open Spaces!! Fresh air – Exercise – Escape from ________, I’ll leave that to you!! Just use common sense!!
In closing, let’s all remember and be thankful for those On The Frontline!! AND those keeping stores and services open for our needs!!
Enjoy Your Open Space – BE SAFE
