Norwescap hosted its 2nd annual day-long fundraising event, NorwesFest, on June 25 at Ort Farms in Long Valley, and it was a day to remember.
This unique fundraiser featured two different events in one big day, offering something for everyone – the daytime Family Fun Day buzzed with excitement for kids of all ages delivering plenty of farm/outdoor activities, while the evening Sunset Soirée evoked a garden party for adults, complete with a farm-fresh gourmet dinner, local adult beverages, and live music by the 16-piece SummerSwing Orchestra.
The outdoor celebration/fundraiser took place at Ort Farms in Long Valley, NJ and drew quite a crowd – over 350 in all.
Major sponsors for the event included Valley National Bank, NJM Insurance, Mutual of America, Shoprite, and PNC Bank. Provident Bank provided a team of nearly 20 hardworking volunteers for the day.
This year’s NorwesFest hit a new record for both number of attendees and funds raised. The support generated from this event will help address people’s most urgent needs, like food and housing, as well as help them work towards a future where they and their families can not only survive, but thrive.
“Norwecap is going to keep on doing all that we can to help our communities – one person at a time, one family at a time – to reach their goals. Events like NorwesFest support those needs, and one person at a time becomes over 30,000 in New Jersey,” said Mark Valli, CEO of Norwescap.
Originally established in 1965, Norwescap has evolved into a comprehensive nonprofit organization providing services to over 30,000 individuals annually in Morris, Hunterdon, Warren, Somerset and Sussex counties. The organization offers a broad array of services that support and empower people with low to moderate income, helping them move away from the crisis of poverty and towards a future where they can thrive. Norwescap’s programs address immediate needs and build strategies for long term success, focusing on education, employment, financial empowerment, health and nutrition, housing and community development, and volunteerism and civic engagement.
