‘New Orleans’ Heads To Hope For Blues/Brews

The music of New Orleans is coming to Hope!

The 6th Annual Blues and Craft Brews at the Inn at Millrace Pond this year features Johnny Sketch & The Dirty Notes on Sunday Aug. 19.

This year’s musical line-up starts early, with The Trevor B. Power Band and The Outcrops warming up the crowd for national act Johnny Sketch & the Dirty Notes. The gates open at 1 p.m. and the music is set to start at 1:30. The music continues until 7 p.m. An assortment of Craft Beers will be on tap, along with plenty of food, for purchase.

The Blues and Craft Brews Fest is presented by the historic Inn at Millrace Pond and Tramontin Harley-Davidson in association with Joe Hirsh Productions and Mr. Music.

Johnny Sketch & The Dirty Notes have appeared in the region at Michael Arnone’s Crawfish Fest and two years ago, at the Festival in the Borough in Washington. The band brings it on only like a New Orleans band can do it.

Johnny Sketch & The Dirty Notes rocks the house all the time every time! This classically trained New Orleans-based band delivers a smorgasbord of musical genres every time they hit the stage. JSDN defy easy categorization, their irreverent funk is cut with rock riffs, a Gypsy/Klezmer flare, a Latin tinge courtesy of a hard hitting horn section, and a sense of humor.

JSDN is a collection of carefully crafted alter egos, mystical musicians hesitant to share their personal selves but collectively ready to funk beyond the call of duty. The ensemble features Johnny Sketch (Marc Paradis) on guitar, electric cello, and lead vocals; Busta Gnutt (Dave Pomerleau) on bass and backing vocals; Dirty Johnny (Andre Bohren) on drums and backing vocals; and Johnny Rico (Omar Ramirez) on trumpet and flugelhorn: and Sage Rouge on Saxophones.

With a live show that is as carefully crafted as their musical arrangements, JSDN want the audience to have FUN; carrying them from a calm, funky groove to a full blown frenzy at the drop of a hat. In New Orleans, and across the country JSDN have developed a loyal following of die-hard fans.

Both the Trevor B. Power Band and The Outcrops are two of the area’s top musical attractions, combining hard-moving rock, blues and funk. The Outcrops, led by lead singer Cassidy Rain, played at the Blues and Craft Brews last year. Since then they’ve played at a host of festivals, appeared at Steel Stacks in Bethlehem, PA. in June, and are opening for the Slambovian Circus of Dreams and Alexis P. Suter at the Festival in the Borough in Washington on Sept. 22.

Advanced tickets can be purchased at the Inn, in the Village of Hope, or at Tramontin Harley-Davidson, which is located at the Route 80 Exit 12 ramp. They are $10 in advance, $15 at the door.
