It’s double the dancing and double the fun when the New Jersey Ballet joins Centenary Stage Company to take the stage for a weekend of performances this November.
All performances will be in the Sitnik Theater of the Lackland Performing Arts Center on the campus of Centenary University.
On Saturday, Nov. 2, at 8 p.m., enjoy a compilation of classic American works. “The All-American Evening” features Agnes de Mille’s American Masterwork, “Rodeo,” with score by Aaron Copeland; Margo Sappington’s haunting pas de deux “Waterfront”; Matthew Rushing’s tribute to Count Basie, “Hand in Hand”; and James Kinney’s Civil War homage “American Salute.” Tickets for the evening performance are $27.50 for adults and $15 for children under 12 in advance.
“Hansel and Gretel” takes the stage the following afternoon, Sunday, Nov. 3, at 2 p.m. The performance provides a lively retelling of the well-known fairy tale about siblings that wander into a dark forest and are captured by a witch living in a fantastic gingerbread house. Don’t worry, the family-friendly show has a happy ending! Tickets for this afternoon performance are $25 for adults and $15 for children under 12 in advance.
Tickets prices for both shows increase $5 day of event.
New Jersey Ballet has been introducing children and families to the art of ballet for more than half a century, performing across the entire state and tip to tip. The Ballet is proud to be designation a Major Arts Institution by the New Jersey State Council on the Arts.
