Nancy Brown, who for many years served on the Warren County Community College Foundation Board, is back at the college, this time as the College’s newest Trustee.
Brown, who lives in Belvidere, joined the board at its April meeting.
“Warren County Community College is a gem in our county and in our state,” said Brown. “I am very pleased to join the Board of Trustees.”
“Nancy brings an incredible amount of knowledge to the board,” noted Dr. Will Austin, President of WCCC. “As a former Foundation member and Chair, she was instrumental in many outstanding endeavors on behalf of the college. She has always been a huge supporter of the college and its mission. We are excited to have her back into the fold.”
Brown, who for many years lived in Hackettstown and was on Town Council for several, has long been involved in the Greater Warren County community in many aspects. She has served on many different non-profit boards, the chamber of commerce, and with various other community activities. As a business woman she has worked in human resources, banking and in public service.
“I am most proud of my varied experience in the business world, my positions with State Legislators (Connie Myers and John DiMaio), my community leadership involvement and being the only woman in Hackettstown history to serve on the Town Council there for four consecutive terms,” she said.
“As the newest member of the Board of Trustees, I offer my varied business and governmental experience, my community leadership and my strong desire to help the students get the best education at an affordable price,” she added. “The College has implemented many new programs in recent years under Dr. Austin, including a new drone program, and I am looking forward to being a part of all this again.”
For someone who has never been shy about giving back, this is another opportunity.
“My parents always said to give back and that’s what I have tried to do,” Brown said. “It’s become my hobby to be a community leader.”
