Hackettstown Moose Lodge members raised $1,218 for the Domestic Abuse and Sexual Assault Crisis Center of Warren County by transforming the lodge into prom night.
Moose Lodge Administrator Heather Apgar arranged the prom night recently with the assistance of other Women of the Moose. They charged $20 a ticket and other donations were raised by the 60 attendees.
The women transformed the lodge into a high school prom. Nick Scalera Photography took all the photographs from the night and Calico Flowers donated the flowers for the “Prom Queen.”
“The core of the Women of the Moose and the Moose Lodge is to help our community, support Mooseheart and Moosehaven,” Apgar said, speaking of two long-standing Moose charities, one a home for children and the other a retirement home. “By fundraising for DASACC and its emergency shelter, we are ensuring our community is staying safe,” she added.
“We are so very grateful for the efforts and commitment of Women of the Moose, and the Moose Lodge, and all those that donated because there are so many families in Warren County struggling from the impact of interpersonal violence. These dollars are so important to the families we serve because it provides food, clothing, and other essential day-to-day needs,” said DASACC Executive Director, Jill Zinckgraf.
