Celebrate Memorial Day among Warren County history when The Ramsaysburg Historic Homestead hosts a Memorial Day Community Picnic on Monday, May 27.
Rain or shine, the gathering begins at noon. In honor of the holiday, Scout Troop 11 will lead a Flag Ceremony and there will also be a Memorial in honor of the Osmun Family Military Service.
Other activities include a presentation on The Timber Rafting Era on the Delaware and a potluck picnic. Families are invited to bring their favorite covered dish to share. Grills are available and cutlery will be provided. The Homestead includes woodland trails and river views that will be open for exploration.
The Ramsaysburg Historic Homestead is the site of a tract of land settled in 1795 by the Ramsays, Irish immigrants. The 12-acre historical preserve includes original buildings dating back to the 1800s. The Homestead is located along the banks of the Delaware River on Route 46 at Ramseyburg Road in Knowlton Township.
