The hustle and bustle of the holidays are upon us. Shoppers will make that dreaded trip to the mall, fight the crowds, and scour the parking lot for a coveted spot. This, all to get through what ends up becoming the chore of holiday shopping. But there is a unique way to bring joy back to holiday shopping.
On Saturday, Dec. 5th from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., Warren County Technical School’s PTA will host its 6th Annual “Crafts in the Warren Tech.”
A highly anticipated event for Warren County and neighboring communities, this event is free and open to the public, although a $1 donation is requested to cover basic costs. For that, shoppers have access to more than 150 quality crafters, who will line the halls and corridors, fill the cafeteria and gymnasium, and offer a wide assortment of products—from the everyday to the more unique and unexpected.
Bigger and Better for 2015
This is a juried craft fair, and all crafters and artisans are carefully reviewed and selected for the affordable and distinct products they sell. Shoppers will find familiar pieces such as handmade soy candles, body fragrances and natural soaps, holiday décor, unusual ornaments, jewelry, handmade sweaters, purses, and other wearables.
More unique offerings include framed art and photographs, vintage posters, handmade dolls and outfits, lighting fixtures, pet supplies, metal sculptures and wood carvings, homemade sauces and salad dressings, culinary treats and stylish kitchen accessories.
The event is a one-stop shopping extravaganza, giving bargain hunters an enjoyable holiday shopping experience. Buyers will have a unique opportunity to find gifts for loved ones and friends who may be hard to shop for, or for those on the list who seem to have just about everything.
New crafters are added each year, and, due to its popularity and overwhelming success, the event has reached maximum capacity! The influx of new crafters and customers required Warren Tech to expand for 2015. As a result, the school designated the Theater Wing as a newly designated shopping area, offering patrons more space to browse, and an even wider array of products.
Fair Directly Benefits Students
In addition to the crafters, Warren Tech students will be selling affordably priced baked goods, lunch selections, snacks and treats, Poinsettia plants and wreaths to fundraise for school clubs and activities. Carolers will roam the hallways and entertain attendees.
Patrons are encouraged to bring a nonperishable food item for the school’s annual holiday food drive. All attendees will be entered into a raffle to win door prizes donated by the crafters. Additional door prize tickets are available for purchase. Finally, Warren Tech’s Robotics Team will sponsor “Pictures with Santa” at designated times. Proceeds will fund improvements on their robot for the 2016 competition.
“Crafts in the Warren Tech” is a premier Warren Tech PTA fundraiser. All proceeds benefit the students and will fund scholarships, academic, sports and cultural programs. The event runs from 9 am through 4 pm. Warren County Technical School is located at 1500 Route 57 in Washington, NJ. Parking is free.
