Earlier this spring, five Cub Scouts from Mansfield Pack 222 had the opportunity to compete in the Forks of the Delaware Pinewood Derby run by Minsi Trails Council. These scouts had to qualify in their Pack Pinewood Derby in order to advance to the district competition. At the District Race, each car raced a total of 6 heats, where the total cumulative time took home the trophy.
Nicholas Staada racing “Slowpoke” finished in 8th Place out of 96 cars with a cumulative time of 15.556 seconds. Not too far behind was Luke Barrett racing “The Pilleator” finishing in 32nd Place with a time of
15.722 seconds. Also doing a great job were Tyler Phoebus with “American Arrow” finishing with a time of 15.942 seconds, Chase Graba racing “Current” with a time of 15.978 seconds and Jason Misertino racing “Skull Bomb” with a time of 16.007 seconds.
All of the boys had a great time racing their cars and displayed a high level of enthusiasm while promoting sportsmanship and cheering each other on.
