Love Is In The Air, Sound Therapy At Library

Valentine’s Day invites us to celebrate love, but it does not require two to commemorate it. Honor the day even if you are not in a “significant” relationship at the Warren County Library’s online presentation: “Lifelong Romance, How to Love Yourself No Matter What” on Tuesday, Feb. 7, from 6 to 7 p.m.

The degree and intensity to which we are loved depends upon our own capacity to love, according to Constance Hallinan Lagan, motivational speaker and presenter of the program. She says the more we love ourselves, the greater our capacity. Learning to love ourselves is the first, and most important, step to giving to and receiving love from another and it does not always come easily or naturally. There are steps we can take, windows we can open, that will enable us to appreciate the beauty, the wisdom, the love within. True and lasting love begins with one. Even the most loving, long-term relationship is enhanced when partners learn to love themselves as well as the other. Join us on Zoom for this hope-filled program designed to enhance awareness of our own very powerful ability to value ourselves, as individuals, whether single or coupled.

The event is for adults. Register with Nancy at (908) 813-3858 or npropsner@warrenlib.org.

Blind Date

For the entire month, romance is in the air at the library, in the form of a blind date with a book.

Kids can borrow a wrapped book at any branch of the Warren County Library and get a sweet treat. If they complete a review of the book, they will be entered into a drawing for a gift card. Eligible books are audiobooks or eBooks from the Library Lovers Month Collection on Hoopla.

February is Hoopla’s Bonus Borrow Mese. Borrowers can also learn to speak French…”the language of love” with Mango, our online language learning service or try the Romance Unit (French Language) and learn some new terms of endearment to use this Valentine’s Day.

Sound Therapy

On the same evening, Tuesday, Feb. 7, also at 6 p.m., Ruth Ratliff, certified and licensed vibrational sound therapist, will provide a short informational presentation on the science of why sound and vibration affect us physically, mentally, and energetically. Participants will also be guided in a sound meditation with the relaxing tones of Crystal and Metal Singing Bowls and other sonic instruments.

The event is for adults. Register with Kim Urban at (908) 818-1280 or kurban@warrenlib.org.
