Join Warren County Library on Saturday, March 21, for its sixth annual Makers Day celebration, promoting Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM) and Maker culture.

Part of New Jersey STEM month, the event explores new opportunities for entrepreneurship, innovation and hands-on learning experiences while building community engagement. Exciting, family-friendly activities will be held at all four branches of the library system from 10 a.m.-3 p.m. on Saturday, March 21.

According to the library, “The maker movement in the United States isn’t just a hobby; it’s having a significant impact on school curriculum development and growing local economies. Makerspaces across the state are having a significant impact on education and job skills development by providing access to people, information, resources, and tools that facilitate making to a wide variety of skill levels.”

Learn about 3D printing, robotics, laser cutting, alternative energy projects, gardening, chainsaw carving, astronomy, rocketry, fiber arts, sewing, crafting, nutrition and food, karate, and more in fun hands-on activities. Each branch will also have its own Lego building challenge – can you build an iconic building from around the world?

All the events are completely free and open to the public.

New this year, participants can pick up a program of events at your local branch and take a tour with a “passport.” Get stamps from all four branches and submit it for a chance to win fantastic raffle prizes!

See the library newsletter for a full list of March events.
