Also this week, for adults:

A virtual presentation on The Dogs of Chernobyl will be available on Wednesday, Nov. 3, at 7 p.m. sponsored by the Warren County Library.

Stephen Quandt, most recently the Feline Behavior Coordinator for the Animal Care Centers of NYC, will be sharing his story about the dogs that descended from the pet dogs left behind after the Chernobyl nuclear accident of 1986. It features his photos and video from the abandoned towns of Pripyat and Chernobyl City in the exclusion zone around the plant.

This rare look at Chernobyl and the dogs (and some people) who continue to live there is described as “at times scary, poignant and in the end hopeful.” It is a story of resilience, hope, life and even heroism in unexpected ways.

For ages 18 and up. Registration is required. Register with Christina at cwilliams@warrenlib.org.
