Warren County Library will be celebrating National Engineers Week, Feb. 16-22, with hands-on activities aimed at increasing understand of and interest in engineering and technology.

Activities will include a special opportunity for Girl Scout troops to earn their Mechanical STEM badges in honor of Introduce a Girl to Engineering Day. Workshops that align the Girl Scout STEM badges for Daisies, Brownies, and Juniors will run throughout February in several library branches. These activities will be open to everyone – not just Girl Scouts – so register early to ensure a spot. Please note that the library will not provide the actual badge.

Founded in 1951, Engineers Week promotes recognition among parents, teachers, and students of the importance of a technical education and a high level of math, science, and technology literacy. It also seeks to motivate youth to pursue engineering careers in order to provide a diverse and vigorous engineering workforce.

In the coming weeks, the library plans to offer workshops that meet the requirements for Robotics, Coding, and Cybersecurity badges, as well. Check with your local branch for more information.
